Is artistic creation able to awaken the spectres?
The works shown in “Spectral Presences” are an attempt to answer to this question.
Through collages and installation, Laura Lot lets her mind’s spectres express themselves in an ambiguous language. This creative process can be seen as an artistic hermeneutischer Zirkel made of abstractions of the unconscious and archetypes of consciousness.
From the ghosts of ideology to the ghosts of memory, Laura Lot’s works in “Spectral Presences” stand at the boundary between the Real and the Unreal, which is itself a “spectre”: not completely present, not completely absent, and therefore elusive.
